Computer Science

Through personal projects, I've had the opportunity to build from scratch and explore applications of computer science. I love putting my problem-solving skills to work.

Service

Through nonprofit and work, I've been able to give back to my community by educating the next generation and donating to charities.

Public Speaking

Through public speaking, I've been able to better my community by helping teenagers learn from their mistakes and create a better future.

Computer Science

Automated Sensor-Based Irrigation System Using an Arduino

  • Conducted extensive research to determine the optimal conditions of external factors for a favorable irrigation system

  • Integrated hardware and software components by assembling breadboard, programming Arduino Nano, and uploading code

  • Assembled transistors, resistors, sensors, photoresistors, OLED display, and other circuit components on physical breadboard

  • Used Arduino Programming Language (based on C++) to code a program that collected and stored data points on external conditions from soil moisture level sensor and photo sensor, conditionally watered plant based on sensors and displayed readings on OLED

Creating a new Human-Mind Interface (HMI)

  • Placed 2nd in School Science Fair

  • Used a NeuroSky Mindwave Mobile 2 (MM2) headset to record and interpret brainwave electroencephalograms (EEG)

  • Developed and tested new human-machine interface (HMI) to help people with disabilities by interpreting brainwaves (level of mental calmness, level of mental focus, and double blinking of the eye) to anticipate mental state and gesture of the subject

  • Integrated hardware and software components by assembling breadboard, programming Arduino Nano, and uploading code

  • Used Arduino to capture EEG gestures to control digital and mechanical devices such as LED lights and a robotic arm
